For the serious poker players ;)
Just had to share this little tid bit from 2+2 posted by Barry Greenstien:
"..the probabilities for different possible startings hands are not all equal to a real poker player."
In other words, if someone is betting like they have the nuts, and the type of player they are needs to have the nuts to be like that, they have the nuts!! If you think in your head, "hmm, I have AK, there's a King on the board, how could he possibly have AA's or KK's? The only two hands that I could put him on the way he played the hand so far.. but I have both an Ace and a King! How could he have it when the odds are against it?"
Of course, if the person is the type to play every hand like he has the nuts, then you must resort to odds; however, my point is, let Barry's point sink in. If you know a player and he's playing like he has a certain hand, he probably really has that hand, no matter what the odds are against him having it. You must play your opponent as well as the cards.
Hope you all are well and I appreciate any and all that have taken the time to stop by and read this after not posting in so long :) As Felicia gets better, hopefully we'll be able to go out and play more in the future. I find that I only really like to post about live play, of which there has been precious few moments of.
